Wildlife Rehabilitation Ireland welcomes Anthony Murphy from Mythical Ireland for an evening talk about the wild creatures that inhabit our ancient folklore. Knowledgeable fish, swan children, one eyed spirit hares are a few of the many animal symbols that help us connect to a history when the natural world was integral to human life. Wild animals, symbols of magic and myth, helped our ancestors navigate the seasons and the realities of life and death. By connecting to these old tales we can find routes in to the present wild island and we may even find new ways to understand and respect the creatures that live there. Some species have lived with us for millennia and at WRI we are working to ensure they remain a central and important part of our future.
